Ed Behne passed from this life on September 9, 2006.  Ed was total Texan and will always be remembered for his wonderful laugh.

His family and friends knew him as "A Man of Pure Integrity".  His country knew him as a true American hero.

Major Edward L. Behne served three consecutive tours in Vietnam, 1967 - 1970 with the same unit, Little Bears "A" Company 25th Battalion, 25th Infantry Division.  His awards include two Silver Stars, two Distinguised Flying Cross of Gallantry.  He was the second most highly decorated pilot having served in the US Army in Vietnam.

In 1988, Ed founded Tex-Air Helecopters, Inc. with one helicopter.  With Ed's unique laugh and handshake, Tex-Air grew to a fleet of 41 helicopters.  In 2003, Ed sold Tex-Air and retired to his passion, his most loved ranch, where he worked, hunted and entertained many friends and spent time with family.

The Behne Ranch is dedicated to his loving memory.
